Go to Pictures & Videos, browse to the folder that contains the videos and select the one you want and it will play in Media Center. I have some copy protected tv shows and movies (dvr.ms files) on my hard drive that were recording with media center 2005. Now, getting back to your issue with Media Center... I assume you have already installed ffdshow x64. Let's see its Audio Configuration. Start, Programs, ffdshow, Audio Choose the "other" option (I am not at my Vista x64 PC now but it shoudl be something like "liba52") Maybe you can find something there.

On the 360's main dashboard Media blade I can find them all, but they're all under "Unknown Artist" and "Unknown Album".
