Agatha Christie I dug into why my mce 2005 wasn't having any problems when vista was and turned out that the nvidia ethernet driver has flow control enabled by default on my mce 2005 and disabled by default on Vista... having flow control enabled certainly resolved this issue for me, thanks again for the pointer.

Did Dell ship the PC with MCE on it? If so, they probably included the Sonic Encoder, which allowed for recording shows. If you bought Vista in a store, it won't have the Sonic Encoder, so won't be able to burn disks. No additional software is necessary to create DVDs from Recorded TV shows in Vista Media Center.

The second tuner outputs a signal to the house coax system, and can be picked up on any attached TV, with the tuner set to channel 60. That is except for my Dell.
